Passage:Acts 3:1-26
Series:Unfinished
Duration: 38 mins 20 secs

In part six of the Unfinished series, Pastor Peter focuses on chapter 3. The account of the healing of the lame beggar in the "Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth," raises the question, "what does it mean to pray,to baptize, to heal, to serve in the name?" And what significance is there to the use of Christ in association with the name Jesus? Is the term merely an adjective? Is it like a last name? Or is it a title—and if so, who can bear that title? Why did the apostles and other writers of the New Testament use the title Christ 531 times? Pastor Peter shares why as well as how Peter can make the claim that Jesus fulfilled the messianic profile of the Old Testament even though there is not a single verse that states that the Messiah would suffer and die.

Luke isn’t just recording the ascension for posterity—he’s framing the theological context for what he’ll be describing later in acts Chapter 2.
